Remember the days when you would wake up and get your morning cup of coffee, then grab the Sunday newspaper? Or you would get your monthly magazine subscription in the mail and you could not wait to get it. Time Magazine, The National Geographic, Including all the little tween girls that were “in love” with Leonardo DiCaprio and they could not wait for their Seventeen magazine. Well it is not like that anymore. The Internet has taken over with all the new channels that have their own websites now, CNN, HLN, CSPAN, etc... Now Blogs have become the new wave of the future. With them we are able to just click a few times and we are presented with the information that we are looking for. But, unfortunately it has become a long process to find that information.
There are so many blogs on the Internet now that if you found a blog that you liked, then a week later came back to find it, it would become a hard task to master. You will most likely spend an hour looking for it. There is a perfect solution to that. Are you ready for the answer? Google Reader. Let me explain. Google Reader uses RSS feeds to give users access to only the information that they want to have access to. It is your very own personal updating newspaper that is constant. Some RSS readers require being downloaded and installed which can be a pain in the butt if you ask me. Now Google Reader keeps all things online so there is no downloading and installing. You can use it in three simple steps:
1.) Visit the Google Reader site. 2.) Use the search box or enter your favorite RSS address. 3.) Click “Subscribe” And Wa La!! Those were very simple and easy steps that you can use to follow your favorite news and information sites. One much nicer side of Google Reader is that you do not have to know the address of a specific site that you are looking for. All you have to do is type a key word in the search box. Use the word “news” for instance, hit OK and you will be presented with a list of hits that Google deems appropriate. Then you just click on the one that you are looking for, click the word “Subscribe”. Alrighty, you’re all set up. Have Fun!
