There are four primary channels in which you can get traffic to your site:
- Direct Traffic
- Referring sites

-Organic Search Traffic
- Search Engines

Direct Traffic: This is when people type the URL into the browser.

Referral Traffic: This is when people click on a link and is directed to another website.

Paid Search Traffic: This is when you use advertisements and people click on them which in turn directs the traffic to your site.

  1. Organic Search Traffic: This is when people use search engines to find an answer to their question. Within the search results will be a link to your website. How quickly someone checks out your site all depends on how it is ranked accordingly.

Search engine optimization is very important. Focus all of your efforts to improve your business.   Discover factors that have a bottom line impact then execute to address them. Optimize keywords that are important to your product. Search engine optimization is how you get there.

Product Management: This is one way that you will have to understand the buying processes that users use to make purchases from you. To characterize the buying process, just look at the perspective of the user. They normally go through the same strategy method as the rest of us.

    - Identify their need
    - Discover possible solutions to their needs
    - Compare each solution that they discover
    - Purchase the product and solve the problem
    - Evaluate the product

Here are some tips to become a good product manager:

    1. Take the blame for product problems.
    2. Get involved in all aspects of your products.
    3. Protect yourself against future competition.
    4. Understand your customers buying process.
    5. Minimize switching costs to maximize value.
    6. Realize that your product is not the center of your customers’ world.
    7. Save some features for later.
    8. Product Management is more than prioritizing features.
    9. Learn from the mistakes of the iPhone 3G S - do not copy everything that they do
10.Consider your market window as part of your Product strategy.

Using these tips should help you to product manage your site. After all, you want the best to happen for your product. Prepare yourself to get the most out of every step you take.
